Liquid overlay is an advance method suitable for larger production. The unique points are, one, directly dispose the corundum grains onto the surface of the decorated paper, needless to use a separated abrasion paper. Secondly, the quantity disposed could be much higher than usual. However, in step can not be saved, when laminated or pressed in the later final step, it should be covered with a surface saturated paper as a film to prevent the steel board be “ate” by the corundum.

In Europe, about 90% of laminated are used liquid overlay method since they are usually monopolies and run in a larger scale of quantity. In China, however, 90% are used abrasion paper, since they are more spread out and the price of abrasion paper is much cheaper.
